Improve air quality while lowering cost

Good indoor air quality starts with proper ventilation. Make-up air (MUA) units play a key role in maintaining a healthier, more comfortable space for occupants.

Upgrading to a high-efficiency condensing MUA unit not only helps you improve air quality but also uses less energy and lowers your operating costs.

Incentives for condensing MUA upgrades

Take advantage of higher incentives for energy efficiency upgrades—it’s the perfect opportunity to improve both your building’s air quality and energy performance.

Limited time offer: Get incentives up to $21,000 per unit.

Available only for projects with purchase orders submitted by Sept. 30, 2026, and installations completed by Oct. 31, 2026.

Upgrade type Incentive rate
Constant speed $0.75/CFM
Two-speed or VFD $1.50/CFM

*Minimum $1,125 to maximum $21,000 per unit. Up to 75% cost coverage.

Year-round incentives: Receive up to $14,000 per unit for MUA upgrades.

Perfect for projects that need flexibility without missing out on savings.

Upgrade type* Incentive rate
Constant speed $0.50/CFM
Two-speed or VFD $1.00/CFM

How do condensing MUAs work?

MUA units take in fresh air from outdoors. The air first passes through filters and dampers to regulate how much air is brought in, removing dust, debris, smoke and other contaminants in the process. It’s then heated with a gas-fired heat exchanger before being blown as tempered air into a space.

Condensing MUA units are similar to non-condensing models, but with much more efficient burners and multiple heat exchangers that extract more waste heat. Condensing MUAs provide the same level of output for a lower cost.

Disclaimers:
HST is not applicable and will not be added to incentive payments. Limited time offer only applicable for equipment purchased between Jan. 1, 2026, and Sept. 30, 2026, installed and operational no later than Oct. 31, 2026. Incentive applies to gas-fired condensing units with air flow rate at least 1,500 CFM but less than or equal to 14,000 CFM with thermal efficiency ≥ 90 percent for equipment with constant speed, two-speed, or variable frequency drive (VFD). Buildings with demand control ventilation (DCV) are not eligible. Air handling units (AHU) with return, reheat and cooling are also not eligible. Only condensing make-up air units installed in commercial, multi-residential or long-term care facilities are eligible for the incentive. Retail segment is not eligible for the incentive.
