Upgrade and save with ozone laundry incentives

Reduce both hot water and natural gas consumption with an ozone laundry system. Once added to a new or existing commercial washing machine, the system generates ozone (O3), a naturally occurring molecule, which helps clean and disinfect fabrics, without using hot water. We can help commercial laundry facilities upgrade with fixed incentives to help offset the upfront cost.

How does ozone laundry work?

Laundry disinfecting has been traditionally done by bleaching with chlorine at high temperatures along with agitation. Unfortunately, bleach is a naturally slow reactant in cold temperature, so hot water is needed to be effective.

Ozone cleans laundry by using water saturated with ozone instead of standard tap water. Ozone carries an electrical charge that activates the detergents, improving the cleaning capability. It’s highly effective in cold to ambient water temperatures and reacts very rapidly, breaking up soil on contact. By adding ozone, you’ll also use significantly less detergent which means that rinse cycles to remove detergent residues are shortened as well.

* Savings are based on a previous installation where the customer had an M2 natural gas rate and annual laundry usage of approximately 400,000 lbs. per year. Payback will vary depending on different factors such as current incentives, customer rate, size, segment and amount of laundry per year.

HST is not applicable and will not be added to incentive payments. Only commercial laundry equipment using water heated by natural gas equipment is eligible. Limited-time offer only applicable for equipment purchased between Jan. 1, 2024 and Sept. 30, 2024, installed and operational no later than Oct. 31, 2024. Only applicable for new installations, not replacing existing ozone laundry system. Washers dedicated to cleaning heavily soiled laundry are not eligible for this offer. Buildings must have commercial extraction or tunnel washers. Maximum incentive amount of 75 percent of total project cost or $17,000 per ozone system, not per washer. Incentive is based on annual pounds of laundry as calculated by the ozone laundry vendor for system installed. Customer quote must include the incentive offer. Incentive must be calculated or confirmed by Enbridge Gas through the use of calculator or an Enbridge Gas Energy Solutions Advisor. Incentive quotes estimated higher than 75 percent of the total project cost will not be honoured by Enbridge Gas. A copy of the customer quote that includes incentive offer, customer invoice, ozone laundry specification sheet with annual laundry usage and customer signed application form must be submitted to Enbridge Gas as soon as installation is complete and no later than Oct. 31, 2024. Delivery and agreement fees are not eligible costs. In-suite units are not eligible. Rental ozone laundry systems are eligible, but a 10-year minimum rental agreement is required. Leased units whereas the lease term is shorter than 10 years are not eligible and incentive is not applicable. The following fees are not covered by incentive: leasing cost, agreement fees, extended warranty plans, equipment maintenance plans, service plans and on-site training.
