The Affordable Housing Multi Residential New Construction program offers incentives to help you upgrade to high-efficiency equipment. Working with you at every step, our Energy Solutions Advisors are here to help you make capital improvement projects that will help you save energy and money and keep your building running optimally.

How the program works

Contact an Energy Solutions Advisor to review and approve your project and its scope of work.

Two

Once approved, work with a third-party energy modelling company or energy modelling tool. All energy models will be verified by your Energy Solutions Advisor.

Three

When you implement the energy-efficient measures identified in the energy modelling, receive financial incentives up to $200,000.


What are the incentives?

Scope of work must be approved by Energy Solutions Advisor, prior to conducting energy modelling.
Up to $8,000 per building or a maximum of $40,000 per affordable multi-family housing provider.
Implementation incentive
Incentive

50 percent of the cost of implementing high-efficiency equipment, up to $200,000 per project.

Enbridge Gas doesn’t guarantee that the project will result in the estimated natural gas savings or estimated total incentive amount. Incentive cannot exceed the lesser of the 50 percent of the total project cost or $200,000 per project. Is your project greater than 50,000 sq. ft.? You may be eligible for the Savings by Design Commercial & Multi-Residential program.

Incentives are applicable to Affordable housing buildings. Paid post implementation of measures after building has been commissioned. Please allow 10 to 12 weeks for delivery of payment. For the purposes of the incentives described in this document, the incentives are available to new construction buildings that have not participated in the Affordable housing savings by design program. Offer is available to Enbridge Gas Inc. customers and available to qualified participants only and measures must be implemented between Jan 1. and Nov 30 of the current calendar year. New Construction projects must use natural gas as a primary fuel source. Energy models need to be verified by an Enbridge Gas Energy Solutions Advisor. Use of an approved energy modelling tool and follow energy modelling guidelines. Leverage current Ontario Building Code (OBC) as baseline. Savings are based on implementation of measures above minimum OBC requirements or equivalent.
