Enbridge Gas is constructing a 15.3-km pipeline, 6 inches in diameter, in the municipality of Brooke-Alvinston and the Township of Warwick.
The pipeline will transport renewable natural gas (RNG) produced at WM’s new RNG facility at the existing Twin Creeks Environmental Centre in the Township of Warwick and connect to the existing Enbridge Gas natural gas system in the Municipality of Brooke-Alvinston. Enbridge Gas will also construct a renewable natural gas injection station at the Twin Creeks Environmental Centre.
The project includes:
- Construction of a new station in Warwick Township, Ontario.
- Construction of a new 6-inch diameter pipeline, 15.3 km long, between Enbridge Gas’ Brooke Mainline Valve site and a new station in Warwick Township.
- The route starts at the Brooke Main Line Valve Site on the Enbridge Gas Trafalgar Line and heads north on Hardy Creek Road to Churchill Line, then west to Arkona Road, and north to Confederation Line, finally heading west to the landfill entrance.
- The majority of the pipeline will be located within the existing municipal Right-of-Way in the County of Lambton, Township of Warwick and Municipality of Brooke-Alvinston.
- A tie-in will be added at the Brooke Main Line Valve Site to accommodate the possible future uses of the pipeline as it relates to the Enbridge Gas system.
- Other facilities relating to the project to be constructed by WM.
Enbridge Gas filed a Leave to Construct application for this project with the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) on Aug. 1, 2023, and the application was approved March 7, 2024.
With this portion of the project approved, construction by Enbridge Gas on the pipeline and its related facilities started on June 3, 2024. WM’s construction at the Twin Creeks Environmental Centre began this spring, with a targeted completion date of early 2025.
