Enbridge Gas is advancing the Southern System Expansion Project to support the continued growth of Washington County and nearby areas, serving residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Beginning January 2025, Phase III of the project will expand feeder gas lines from Dammeron Valley to Ledges. These feeder lines are larger steel pipelines that supply smaller main and individual service lines connected to meters at homes and businesses. Phase II covered the Central to Veyo area, while Phase I involved installing a 12-inch high-pressure pipeline from the St. George station at Snow Canyon Parkway to 3050 East.

Frequently asked questions

Enbridge Gas is committed to delivering safe, reliable natural gas service at the lowest cost. To address increasing demand and improve system integrity, we have been replacing critical parts of the underground pipeline system serving Washington County. This often involves substituting older pipelines with newer, stronger, and larger-diameter ones. The upgraded pipelines enhance our ability to meet the needs of new homes and businesses and improve system safety and reliability by enabling better monitoring and maintenance. Replacing older sections that have pipes of varying diameters with uniform pipes also allows for the use of in-line inspection tools. These tools use Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) technology to detect and resolve potential issues before they become problems.

No, redundancies in the system should prevent service interruptions.

If your property is on or near the right-of-way, you will be notified in advance of any construction. Enbridge Gas collaborates closely with residents and city officials to minimize the impact on properties. When access to the right-of-way is needed, we make every effort to return the landscape to its original state, though this does not include unauthorized structures, plants, or objects. To assist the process, ensure that structures like large trees, concrete slabs, sheds, and fences do not encroach on the right-of-way, as these pose safety hazards and could hinder emergency response or maintenance.

For more details on right-of-way policies, contact a representative at 801-324-3149 or request a company brochure.

Temporary lane closures and/or detours may occur. While we strive to keep traffic flowing in both directions during construction, temporary lane restrictions are to be expected. Access to private driveways, side streets, and parking lots may occasionally be restricted. When not in use, trenches will be plated to maintain access during business hours, at night, and on weekends.

Any changes in traffic or access will be minimized and kept brief. Before work begins in front of your home or business, a representative will contact you to discuss driveway access. Signs indicating that businesses are open during construction will be provided upon request.

Residents are encouraged to drive carefully in work zones and keep children away from construction areas. We work in coordination with local and state officials to ensure safety and minimize inconvenience for drivers and pedestrians.
